Alexandria Bay "Bill Johnston's Pirate Days"

Alexandria Bay, located 50 miles north of Association Island, annually hosts the famous "Bill Johnston's Pirate Days". This 10-day event is filled with family fun and special events, including pirate fights on classic pirate ships, sword-fighting groups that perform throughout the village streets, and a full entertainment schedule. You are encourage to dress like a pirate, patriot, or Indian when attending any or all of these events. Check their website for more details.

The Great New York State Fair

Located at the NYS Fairgrounds, about 75 miles south of Association Island, the Great New York State Fair is an annual celebration of the economic, cultural and institutional strengths indigenous to New York with a special emphasis on agriculture as one of the State's largest and most important industries. Along with 12-days of expositions, the Fair offers various forms of entertainment (including several popular national headline bands) and amusement for families and friends. The Fair draws visitors from across the state and country. Our campers will take one or more day trips to the Fair and stay at Association Island as a home base.
